Kohat Cement completes grinding mill installation

Kohat Cement Co Ltd (KOHC) has successfully installed a new 105tph cement mill at Kohat in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.   KOHC is currently working on a 7800tpd brownfield expansion project that is expected to come on-stream in 1H20. Presently, KOHC has a production capacity of 2.677Mta of cement.

Anjani Portland Cement plans to expand capacity

India’s Anjani Portland Cement has approved plans to construct an additional clinker production unit at its plant in Suryapet, Telangana. The project will see an investment of INR4bn (US$61.49bn) to expand the facility’s capacity from 1.16Mta to 2.31Mta, according to India Infoline. The expansion is expected to be completed by December 2019, and will be funded through either internal accruals, inter-corporate deposits or bank loans.

Cemex Latam Holdings inaugurates Guatemala expansion

Cemex Latam Holdings has inaugurated its expanded Arizona cement works in Guatemala. The project represents an investment of US$3.7m and will enable the plant to increase its production by 10 per cent to 0.545Mta. Cruz Azul to invest US$300m in plants

As part of its plant modernisation programme, Mexico’s Cruz Azul plans to spend US$300m in upgrading its four plants in the next four years. India: Shree Cement profits hit US$76m in 1QFY16-17

In its trading results for the first quarter of FY2016-17, Shree Cement has seen its profits improve to INR5.1bn (US$76m). This represents an increase of 388 per cent on the same period last year. Cement sector revenues rose by 51 per cent to INR22.9bn (US$342m). Declining power and fuel costs helped Shree’s bottom line. These fell by 21 per cent to INR3.3bn (US$49m). China National Building Materials (CNBM) plans to become a shareholder in Eurocement Group, Russia’s leading producer of construction materials. India: Shree Cement completes Aurangabad grinding unit upgrade

Shree Cement has announced the completion of the upgrade works to its Aurangabad grinding plant in Bihar, Business Standard reports. Capacity at the plan rose from 2Mta to 3.6Mta, effective from 22 June 2016. Shree’s shares rose by three per cent after it made the news public. Shree Cement is in the process of expanding clinker production at its Raipur works with that upgrade expected to be completed by March 2018.

Ambuja Cement has announced that it plans to upgrade the capacity of its grinding plant in Rupnagar in Punjab by 0.9Mta, taking its output to 3.4Mta. Domicem, owned by Italy’s Colacem, has inaugurated its new vertical mill at its plant in south-central San Cristobal province of the Dominican Republic. The new mill was supplied by Loesche GmbH and represents an investment of over DOP900m (U$19.66m).
